About The Event on Main - Our Goal

The Event on Main is a spectacular fundraiser, in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, to support the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. All proceeds from this annual event help to make possible the delivery of Michigan's world-class care for children and women in the finest healthcare environment imaginable. Since its inception in 2010, The Event on Main has raised more than $500,000. You can help make the leaders and best even better by partnering with Mott and Von Voigtlander at The Event on Main.

Fast Facts:

  • Opened in 2011, the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital will total 1.1 million gross square feet.
  • The facility includes a 9-story tower for clinic space, and a 12-story inpatient tower.
  • Patients and their families - as well as teams of more than 450 current Children's and Women's faculty and staff - provided input for the new facility's layout and design.
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is underway. The facility also will be wireless and paperlight upon opening.
  • The building was funded entirely through hospital reserves and philanthropy. No state funding was needed.
  • To date, the U-M Health System has raised more than $70 million of its $75 million philanthropic goal for the new facility.
